THE STORY OF IRISH ROVER & STRUGGLE BEHIND THE NAME

IRISH ROVER AND  THE CREW® was founded in 2005. by IRISH ROVER, known to many as OIroishRover, 
art. Rover MacGowan MacChroi, Paddy Punk Rocker, Lead Singer & Lyricist, a Victim Of Geography, 
still held against own free will in 3rd world of Europe, serbia, belgrade, with human rights down in the mud,
 awaiting freedom & move towards the Republic Of Ireland. IRISH ROVER AND THE CREW stands as a true OI,
 essence genuine Irish punk rock performance, strongly individual furious expression of Irish Rover's,
 influenced by the greatest Irish punk rocker of all times, Shane MacGowan and his outstanding work
 both with The Pogues and The Popes. IRISH ROVER AND THE CREW stands as a furious devotion,
 essence & attitude expression with no poseurs within'. The very name is inspired by an Irish trad. song Irish Rover,
 bestly performed by The Pogues & The Dubliners. Sadly, with complete lack of Irish people and Irish musicians, 
punk rockers in this part of the world, which is the 3rd world of Europe, this story suffered from the starts. 
No genuine Crew for Irish Rover and The Crew. Numerous but ultimately wrong choices as candidates for The Crew
 that were and are the only available for this part of the world, led to underperformance, lack of live performance,
 recordings and above all lack of genuine Irish touch, Paddy essence & attitude, the magic that is a must and exists 
within' all em' grand rockin' Irish bands in the world. So, moving the story to where it belongs, goin' west, Ireland, 
where true Paddies, where punk rock truly exists, that is the only way for Irish Rover and The Crew to really happen
 in essence terms. By then, no compromise with the essence ! The work is currently a solo one, just Irish Rover,
doin' both vocals & guitar, also workin' long-distance collaborations with  Irish musicians & punk rock bands from worldwide.
 Only the furious Paddy punk rock Crew can live the story together with Irish Rover, and bring the real sounds
 to friends and essence audience. Hopefuly, 2009. will be a turning point and Irish Rover will be rockin' with real Crew, 
where em' streams of whiskey are flowing. Them chains must fall first.
